About the Training

The Waldorf Teacher Training for Subject Teachers meets in three-week sessions for three summers plus one week in spring for three years, with continuing independent study, and observation in Waldorf schools during the school year. Foundation Studies is a pre-requisite and is offered as the first week of the three-week intensive study each summer for three summers. Those who have already completed foundation studies may apply for exemption from the first week of the summer portion of the training. Please contact Rudolf Steiner College for more information.

Handwork

Alecia Dodge, B.S. Home Economics University of California, Davis; ten years as professional dressmaker with her own business, Berkeley, CA; 14 yrs handwork teacher at Waldorf School of Santa Barbara; Waldorf Appplied Arts Certificate in Handwork, Sunbridge College, N.Y.; Workshop leader in handwork at Waldorf Institute of Southern California; and currently teaching handwork at the Waldorf School of the Peninsula in Northern California.

Foreign Languages

Marcela Mejía Ronan, Degree in Early Childhood Education, Cenda College, Columbia; eight years teaching in Columbia; Institute of Culture, diploma in dance; Juvenilia Art School study in painting, theater, drama and puppetry; Bi-lingual storyteller; Center for Educational Renewal, Waldorf Teacher Education studies; Spanish Teacher for grades and high school, Four Winds Waldorf School and Summerfield Waldorf School and currently at Sebastopol Independent School.

Ina Jaehnig, Waldorf Graduate Teacher Certificate, Stuttgart Academy of Art; taught at Munich Waldorf School; since 1974 at The Denver Waldorf School as a subject teacher in handwork, music, German and 16 years as a class teacher; also a High School teacher in history, history of art, literature, history of architecture, and German; and an adult educator at Rudolf Steiner College and the Teacher Seminar in Eugene, Oregon.

Music

Shannon Fobey, 12 years at Portland Waldorf School as music specialist and main lesson teacher; studied with master teachers of the European Independent School of Music, Tonalis Music training at Antioch and the Advanced Training in Uncovering the Voice; Medical Certification in Therapeutic Singing; currently teaching at Cedarwood Waldorf School, in addition has a Therapeutic practice and is completing a Music Curriculum Guide.
