In partnership with Wise Cosmos Educational Initiative (WiseCosmos.com)
Let’s not deceive ourselves – what present-day cultural trends can teach us about the basis of existence will never answer any of life’s great riddles in the mind of a deeply feeling person; it will only raise questions. … if no answer to such questions is forthcoming, we become psychologically (and ultimately also physically) crippled. Supersensible knowledge is not a mere theoretical need; it is a matter of how we lead our practical life. And because of the state of our modern culture, knowledge of the spirit has become a field of study we cannot afford to ignore.
~ Rudolf Steiner, Preface to the second edition of Theosophy
September 9 - 11 and September 16 - 18, 2016
Two weekends: Friday 7p - 9p, Saturday 9a - 9p, Sunday 9a - 12:45p
An essential guide to the anthroposophical path of knowledge.
This 2-weekend intensive with Brian Gray explores a text that holds a special place among Rudolf Steiner’s “basic books," Theosophy: An Introduction to the Spiritual Processes in Human Life and in the Cosmos. We will strive to bring this book to life in our souls and to apply its spiritual insights to practice in everyday life, on our journey to becoming Human. Those who deeply contemplate Theosophy report quickened clarity in their observation and thinking, heightened sensitivities in their life of feeling, and more vibrant certainty and courage for decisive action. Special guest Alice Stamm will share a full period of eurythmy on both Saturday afternoons.
* Theosophy, Part 1 (first weekend September 9-11): The Essential Nature of the Human Being (Chapter 1), and Destiny and the Reincarnation of the Spirit (Chapter 2)
* Theosophy, Part 2 (second weekend September 16-18): The Three Worlds (Chapter 3), and The Path to Knowledge (Chapter 4)
Price for Part 1 and Part 2 together: $195
September 12 - 16, 2016
Weekdays: Monday - Friday, 9a - 5p
Experience the living interconnections between the cosmos and our human lives.
This 5-day intensive with Brian Gray explores the living interconnectedness between the cosmos and our human life experiences – the mysteries of our becoming Human. Drawing from Star Wisdom and Theosophy, we will work with our birth charts and archetypes of human biography, seeking deeper insights into the unfolding of life cycles and stages of development. A birth chart will be provided for each participant. Rudolf Steiner’s description of Anthroposophy as “a path of knowledge that aims to guide the spiritual element in the human being to the spiritual in the universe” will become manifest as we move back and forth between macrocosm and microcosm. Special guest Alice Stamm will share with us a full period of eurythmy every afternoon.
September 12 – 15, 2016
Evenings: Monday - Thursday, 7p - 9p
Explore the “revelations” outlining human developmental cycles and epochs.
During four evening sessions we will examine the puzzling and troubling symptoms of our age within the context of the Apocalypse of St. John. Unlike any other book in the New Testament, this text shines light into the past, present and future cycles of human development and articulates stages in our initiation toward becoming Human. Join Brian Gray in exploring these revelations, which manifest in human history on at least three different time scales. We will seek to understand our present challenges and opportunities in the 21st Century from both spiritual and practical perspectives.
Discounted Package of 3 September Intensive Studies: $450
Brian Gray teaches, lectures, and writes on topics drawn from the Anthroposophy developed by Rudolf Steiner. Brian loves to share research from the realms of Star Wisdom, Biography, Cosmology, Waldorf Education, Sacred Architecture, and Esoteric Christianity.
