In partnership with Wise Cosmos Educational Initiative (WiseCosmos.com)

After he had fully developed his organs of spiritual perception by 1897, Rudolf Steiner began to explore the role of Christ in the evolution of the human being and the cosmos.  This, in turn, led him to undergo a “severe inner test” and subsequent breakthroughs at the end of 1899.  In his Autobiography, Rudolf Steiner describes these experiences:

I could only make progress during this period of testing by contemplating the evolution of Christianity with spiritual perception. The insight thus gained is described in my book Christianity as Mystical Fact…. I never found the Christianity I sought in any of the existing denominations. I found it necessary to enter into a direct and living experience of Christianity – and indeed into the world of spirit itself, after the severe inner struggles during the time of testing…. a conscious knowledge of true Christianity began to dawn within me. Around the turn of the century this knowledge grew deeper. The inner test described above occurred shortly before the turn of the century. This experience culminated in my standing in the spiritual presence of the Mystery of Golgotha in a most profound and solemn festival of knowledge.

~ Rudolf Steiner, An Autobiography, Chapter 26

Rudolf Steiner's book, Christianity as Mystical Fact and the Mysteries of Antiquity

December 2 - 4 and December 9 - 11, 2016
Two weekends: Friday 7p - 9p, Saturday 9a - 9p, Sunday 9a - 12:45p

Rudolf Steiner’s becoming aware of the Christ Impulse in evolution.

During this 2-weekend intensive study, Brian Gray will explore the initial text in which Rudolf Steiner lays out his perceptions of the origins of Christianity and its history from a mystical point of view. Rudolf Steiner initially gave this content as a series of lectures in 1902, then subsequently formed it into his book, Christianity as Mystical Fact and the Mysteries of Antiquity. We will strive to awaken our understanding of the Christ impulse through stages of human evolution and periods of history as revealed by Rudolf Steiner. Special guest Alice Stamm will share a full period of eurythmy on both Saturday afternoons.

Christianity as Mystical Fact, Part 1 (first weekend): Chapters 1 through 6
Christianity as Mystical Fact, Part 2 (second weekend): Chapters 6 through 13

Price for Part 1 and Part 2 together:  $195

Esoteric Christianity and Human Evolution

December 5 - 9, 2016
Weekdays: Monday - Friday from 9a - 5p

Further insights awakened through Rudolf Steiner’s spiritual research.

Over five days, we will carefully trace Rudolf Steiner’s insights into the leading role performed by the Cosmic Christ in preparing and sustaining the evolution of the cosmos and the human being to gradually receive the “I AM”. We will explore cosmic evolutionary stages during which the human being received our present constitution, with special attention given to the harmonious cooperation of Spiritual Beings guided by the Cosmic Christ. The preparatory stages needed to provide a human Grail vessel capable of bearing the Christ will be studied in some detail, with reference to the Gospels of St. Matthew and St. Luke as understood by Rudolf Steiner’s spiritual research. Throughout our study and conversations, we will gain new appreciation and gratitude to the spiritual world for the gift of the Christ to each human being. Special guest Alice Stamm will share a full period of eurythmy each afternoon.

The Gospel of St. John, the Logos and Sophia

December 5 – 8, 2016
Evenings: Monday - Thursday, 7p - 9p

The Logos Sun-mysteries, as revealed by the Archangel Michael.

In four evening presentations, Brian will present some of Rudolf Steiner’s insights into The Gospel of St. John, which Steiner referred to as “the most esoteric Christian document.”  We will explore the profound mysteries of the Logos, who conveyed the content of this Gospel and that of The Apocalypse of St. John to its author “the one whom the Lord loved.”  Who is Sophia, and what is her relationship with Christ and the author of the Gospel of St. John?  How is the Archangel Michael the great regent of cosmic intelligence and the champion of humanity?  Join us over four evenings for these and other rich contemplations and conversations.
