Throughout the school year we periodically have unoccupied dorm rooms which are made available for nightly rental to conference and workshop participants. Staying on campus in the dorms is an excellent way to make full use of the College’s unique amenities and mitigate travel expenses. Additionally, it allows for close association of colleagues and encourages comradery!

Single (private room) $80/night
The Housing in Private Homes program is only available to faculty members at this time. (As of January 2014, the housing office will no longer be making arrangements for the general public in private homes.) Housing in Private Homes is an accommodation in a local family’s home. If you are a student interested in private housing, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to be put in touch with local hosts. [Please note: Rudolf Steiner College will not be responsible for making your housing arrangement or for the quality of your stay.]

There are four home units; each unit has six private bedrooms, two shared bathrooms, a shared living-dining room and a shared kitchen.
Each dorm resident has a private room that includes a desk, chair, lamp, bed, and closet with storage shelves. Double occupancy is also available for residents for an additional charge. Two telephone lines are available for activation in each bedroom. Both a wireless and hardwire internet connection is available in all units for no additional fee. Every room has independent cooling/heating controls that can be adjusted by the occupant.
Our laundry facility is available to residents and the washer and dryer machines are coin-operated. A large Commons Room and a small TV room are also available for student use during times when classes are not in session in the Library building.
Residency in the dorms is available for the September through May academic year. Dorm rooms are then made entirely available for the guests attending the numerous summer classes from June through August.

Rudolf Steiner college students who choose to live on campus can enjoy being near our many campus activities as well as the adjacent American River Parkway for hiking and biking. The dormitories are situated on the south side of the campus near the garden and next to the library.
Residents who come to live on campus are a very diverse group–they vary widely in age, gender, race, and religion, and many are international students. All residents who come are unique and bring their many talents and interests to share with the campus community.
Prospective dorm residents should be prepared for a communal situation where bathrooms and kitchen facilities are shared. In particular, kitchen space is limited. Cooperation is the key!
On-campus housing is available for rent to Rudolf Steiner College students and event/conference attendees. These facilities are controlled by a third party. Rudolf Steiner College does not assume responsibility for student housing, does not have dormitory facilities under its control, nor offer student housing assistance. According to rentals.com rental properties in Fair Oaks, CA start at approximately $650 per month, and rental properties in the San Francisco area start at $900 per month.
