Additionally, it allows for close association of colleagues and encourages comradery!

For housing on a month to month basis, please contact the Housing Office directly at housing@steinercollege.edu.

Dorm Housing: Residents

Renoir Dormitory

There are four home units; each unit has six private bedrooms, two shared bathrooms, a shared living-dining room and a shared kitchen.

Each dorm resident has a private room that includes a desk, chair, lamp, bed, and closet with storage shelves. Double occupancy is also available for residents for an additional charge. Two telephone lines are available for activation in each bedroom. Both a wireless and hardwire internet connection is available in all units for no additional fee. Every room has independent cooling/heating controls that can be adjusted by the occupant.

Our laundry facility is available to residents and the washer and dryer machines are coin-operated. A large Commons Room and a small TV room are also available for student use during times when classes are not in session in the Library building.

Residency in the dorms is available for the September through May academic year. Dorm rooms are then made entirely available for the guests attending the numerous summer classes from June through August.

For information regarding rental fees and payment, please e-mail or call the Housing Office.  Dorm placement is on a first-come-first-served basis, subject to availability. Located below are the current resident rates guide as well as the dorm housing application, and other pertinent information.

Community Life

Rudolf Steiner college students who choose to live on campus can enjoy being near our many campus activities as well as the adjacent American River Parkway for hiking and biking. The dormitories are situated on the south side of the campus near the garden and next to the library.

Residents who come to live on campus are a very diverse group–they vary widely in age, gender, race, and religion, and many are international students. All residents who come are unique and bring their many talents and interests to share with the campus community.

Prospective dorm residents should be prepared for a communal situation where bathrooms and kitchen facilities are shared. In particular, kitchen space is limited. Cooperation is the key!
